This town is not only a famous work of literature by Chicago writer Sherwood Anderson, but Holmes County’s Winesburg, Ohio is a quaint little village named after Weinsberg, Germany. The town was founded in the early 19th century and had the spelling of its name changed by postal authorities in 1833. The town has a charming downtown with antique shops, stores and restaurants.
